Micro-Targeted Facebook/LinkedIn Lead Gen Ads

Running social ads is easy. Running profitable ones? That’s where strategy kicks in. And if you’re running ads without micro-targeting… You might be missing your best prospects.

Start specific. Target women business owners over 45. Or engineers within 10 years of retirement. The more focused the audience, the more effective your message becomes. And instead of sending people to your website where they may or may not take action, use lead-gen forms right inside Facebook or LinkedIn. They’re fast, mobile-friendly, and convert better.

Now let’s talk about retargeting—because this is where your ad dollars really start to work smarter. I teach this in my classes at Oklahoma State—and trust me, the businesses who win today are the ones who market smarter, not louder.

Retargeting means showing your ads specifically to people who have already interacted with you. Maybe they visited your website, watched part of your webinar, or clicked on a previous ad.

With a tracking pixel or a simple code on your site, platforms like Facebook and LinkedIncan remember who those people are—and follow up with a new, specific message just for them.

It’s like digital follow-through. And it often costs less to convert someone on the second or third touchpoint than trying to reach someone brand new.

So if you want to stop wasting money on generic ads and start attracting the right people—micro-target, use lead-gen forms, and don’t forget retargeting. It’s the secret weapon most advisors aren’t using yet.
